2. Where are HELP libraries located?
HELP Learning Resource Centre consists of 5 libraries, namely:-
1. HELP University Library & HELP Academy Library
Located on 1st Floor, Wisma HELP, Jalan Dungun, Damansara Heights, 50490 Kuala Lumpur.
2. ELM Library & Law Library

3. Do you have printing/photocopying services in the library?
Yes, all HELP libraries provide self-service printing/photocopying facilities to our users with the following charges :

4. Do you have wireless internet access in the library?
Yes, all the HELP buildings are equipped with WiFi service.
5. Do you provide facilities for internet surfing, online databases and resources searching?
PCs are available for patrons to access OPAC, online databases and other online resources. Access by users is via their Active Directory username and password.
6. How do I reserve a Discussion Room in the library?
Users may place an online booking to reserve the Discussion Rooms which are available in HU/HA, ELM and S2 libraries. You can do your online booking at https://library.help.edu.my/discussion-room/
7. Can food and drinks be allowed in the library?
Only water is allowed. Food and beverages are strictly prohibited. This is to avoid damage to our assets and attract pests to the library.
1. Do I need to register with the library to be a member?
It is not required. All registered HELP staff and students’ records are automated in the library system. Please present your student/staff ID at the circulation counter for verification during transaction.

2. How many books can I borrow at one time?
Pre-University and Undergraduate students – 4 books for 14 days
Postgraduate students – 5 books for 14 days
Staff – 6 books for 90 days
3. Can I renew my books online?
Yes, you can renew your book online at https://koha.help.edu.my
4. How many times can I renew a book?
Limited to 3 times (this is to allow other users a chance to use the book too) provided the book is not reserved by other users (s).
5. My books are due soon but I'm unable to come to campus to return them. How do I avoid being fined?

You may request the library to renew your books via email at library@help.edu.my

6. What are the fines for late return?
Open Shelf books – 50 cents per book per day
Red Spot books – RM1.00 per book per hour
7. Do I receive a notification if my book is overdue?
You’ll receive two (2) overdue notices via email. The first will be sent three (3) days before the book is due, and the second will be sent on the due date itself.
8. Can I borrow books from a library and return them to another library?
Yes, for users’ convenience. But we encourage you to return the books to the same library you borrowed them as to avoid the books being hold up temporarily and prevent other users from using them.
9. I am from S2 campus and wish to borrow books from Damansara campus libraries. Instead of going to Damansara, can I request the library to transport the books to S2?
Yes, please allow the library a few days to arrange the transfer.
10. How do I make book reservation?
Sure! You can reserve a book through our KOHA OPAC system at https://koha.help.edu.my/
Simply select your preferred pickup location during the reservation process. Please keep in mind that it may take a few days for the library to arrange the transfer.
11. How to find a book in library?
You can search the library OPAC at https://koha.help.edu.my/ for the title, author or subject. The information can be obtained from OPAC regarding book availability status and its location in the library.
1. What if I lose a book that I have borrowed?
When you report a lost book, we will advise you to search for the book again within 14 days and at the same time we will also do the same in our libraries.
If it is not found after the period, you will be notified of the replacement cost and fines incurred (if any). Please note fines calculation will be stopped from the day you report the book lost. Please make the replacement within 14 days after you have been notified of the costs.
You have 2 options of making the replacement: –

Pay the cost of book replacement which is double the price of the book

Replace the book with a same copy or of later edition
2. Can I be refunded of the replacement cost if I found the book?
Unfortunately, the library will not refund the replacement cost. You can give the book back to the library out of goodwill.
3. Is there a processing fee for me to pay other than the replacement cost of the lost book?
No processing fee is charged for the replacement.

4. How do I access journals?
Journals can be accessed by library database library.help.edu.my. You may use the ProQuest database to search the related journals based on your interest or related information
5. How do I access HELP Repository?
HELP Institutional Repository (OER-IR) can be accessed from our library website. Please click OER tab from the Homepage.
6. How do I access Law Materials?
To obtain the online materials for law, please go to library website (library.help.edu.my) click online databases, then proceed with to log in to the library ezyproxy with student ID and the password (as assigned by CIC). Browse the list of the databases, and either select Lexis Advance Malaysia or WestLaw Next to obtain law materials.
7. How do I get access to subject specific databases such as Psychology Database @Proquest?
To obtain the online materials that are specific for Psychology, please go to library website (library.help.edu.my) click online databases, then proceed to with log in to the library ezyproxy with student ID and the password (as assigned by CIC). Browse the list of the databases, and select APA PsycNet (contains of APA PsycBooks, APA PsycArticles and APA PsycTest)
Inter-Library Loan / Document Delivery Service

Library provides inter-library service to HELP staff, postgraduate students and final year students to obtain books, book chapters and journal articles that are not available in the library collection.

Cost incurred in borrowing books or obtaining photocopied articles from other libraries is borne by the requestors. The cost incurred may include courier charges, printing, photocopy, etc.

The requestors are responsible for any damages or loss of the items and to bear all financial cost incurred.
